Tanzania and Oman have historical and blood relations which date back to the 19th century. This relation is very special as Oman is the only country outside Africa where Swahili is spoken as first language and its people have blood relations with people of Tanzania. The major role of the Embassy is to translate this specialty into more tangible results for the mutual benefit of two countries and its people.
BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEEN TANZANIA AND OMAN
The two countries continues to enjoy very warm relations for a long period of time which was strengthened by exchange of visits between two countries in various levels, these includes:

ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN OMAN AND TANZANIA
Oman and Tanzania have signed number of agreements aimed at encouraging trade and investment by creating favourable environment and building investor's confidence. These agreements includes ;

- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Higher Education between Oman and Zanzibar
- Agreement on Cooperation in Records and Archives
- Agreement establishing Joint Permanent Commission For Cooperation between Oman and Tanzania
- Agreement on Cooperation in Records and Archives between Oman and Zanzibar
- Agreement on Establishment of Oman- Tanzania Joint Business Council between Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tanzania Chambers of Commerce
MEETING OF OMAN - TANZANIA JOINT PERMANENT COMMISSION
The First Session of the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation between Oman and Tanzania was held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on February 24th to 25th , 2013 . Oman Delegation was led by HE Yusuf Alawi, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs while Tanzania delegation was led by Hon. Bernard Kamillius Membe (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The meeting was an opportunity where both delegates discussed number of issues in Social, Cultural, Economic and Commercial sectors geared towards enhancing bilateral relations between two Countries.
